PartsTrader is an easy-to-use online marketplace, and we provide automotive repairers with a single platform for the procurement of vehicle parts.

We're also super proud of the journey we are going on and thrilled to have won the Technology award at the Wellington Gold Awards.

Position Overview

To be effective in this role, you will naturally be drawn to understanding your customers, how they work and interested in discovering their points of pain.

Working closely with Product and Design as part of a 'product trio', you will help articulate technical solutions to solving customer problems, with feasibility and making sure we 'build it right' top of mind.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and evaluate technical feasibility of features, understanding dependencies, milestones, timelines, risks & mitigations, from discovery to delivery.
  • Understand your customers, their problems and how to go about solving them. Provide this context and understanding to the team to encourage innovation.
  • As part of a product trio, you will be working closely with Product and Design to:
  • Assess and find solutions to address customer pain points.
  • Ensure user centric design is at the heart of solutions being developed by the team.
  • Find value for your customers. This could include, but is not limited to measuring usage, surveying, experimenting etc.
  • Aid Product in helping set the team direction.
  • Ensure agile best practices are followed, including but not limited to:
  • Ensure the daily stand-up takes place.
  • Understand progress and impediments.
  • Check performance metrics within the team.
  • Raise issues around delivery, performance, and practices with the team i.e., finding when a story is taking too long, raising it with the team to work out who can help.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience in a similar role operating at a senior level
  • Excellent full stack software development knowledge (C#, MVC, Web API,.NET, PowerShell, SQL)
  • Proven knowledge in top quality coding practices
  • Great communication and people skills
  • Understanding of cloud technologies, specifically AWS
  • A basic understanding of discovery and product frameworks, such as double diamond and product trios
  • Working knowledge of Agile and Product Management Methodologies

For this role, we are interested in finding a great person that wants to share their knowledge and expertise with what they do know and are also willing to try something new and learn from others.
