**Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity**

Downer NZ holds a long-term Asset Management and Facilities Management contract with the Department of Corrections and the Ministry of Justice. Downer provide enhanced and extended scope of works and implement new processes to ensure that all facilitates are well managed and maintained. We are currently seeking a Subcontract Resource Lead to join our team at the Department of Corrections and Ministry of Justice in Auckland or Wellington.

**A bit about the role**

With subcontractor management being the greatest risk to Downer, the Role of the Subcontract Resource Lead is critical for achieving and maintaining the successful management and implementation of quality subcontractor management systems and processes, ensuring Downer is at the forefront of our internal, client and legislative requirements.

Some duties include but not limited to.
- Leading the commercial engagement with subcontractors to ensure Agreements are in place, commercial terms are current and accurate across all systems and work management platforms.
- Leading the ongoing performance management of subcontractors to ensure compliance to their delivery obligations.
- Acting as the main commercial point of contact for subcontractors working within the Corrections and Justice contract.
- Managing the procurement of key delivery services to ensure best value for Downer and the Agencies.
- Supporting the delivery arms of the contract to ensure they have access to the right skills and tradespeople when needed to deliver the services.

- Experience in the commercial management of subcontractors is a must.
- Well organised with the ability to meet deadlines, plan, and prioritise.
- Able to work with a minimum level of supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with aptitude to learn new software and systems.
- Experience in electronic financial reporting systems
