About the opportunity


As our new Food Safety Quality (FSQ) Manager you will have the opportunity to manage the culture of food safety & quality within our Fonterra Canpac site, a dry blending paediatric site.

This is a key, critical role in our ambition to be the 'most trusted source of dairy nutrition' and this position will utilise your ability to lead best practices management of quality according to Fonterra Food Safety and Quality systems.


With your extensive paediatric knowledge including export market regulations we need you to hit the ground running to support the registration of our paediatric business into China.

You will come with leadership experience to direct and mentor 4 reports that oversee and manage the day-to-day food safety activities on site.

You will provide energy and direction to strengthen the sites quality systems, influence stakeholders across the site and our wider business to ensure strategic impact and efficiency of these processes.

By providing verification, leadership, and coaching, supported by expertise in regulations, food safety & quality, and customer requirements. You will empower the site team to make informed decisions during the manufacture and distribution of our paediatric products.

In this critical role, you are exposed to a variety of areas within the business, such as manufacturing, product release, complaint management, sales, and our technical teams.


About you


As a key member of the Quality & Technical leadership team you will be pivotal in Fonterra achieving its vision of being the world's most trusted source of dairy nutrition.

Not only will you enhance our change and engagement across site, you will provide direction to our FSQ standards and regulations.


Other key skills include:

  • Experience in manage GACC and SAMR registrations
  • Demonstrable management experience building, coaching and mentoring teams while driving change in a quality environment.
  • Extensive food safety systems and process skills in a dry blending paediatric environment.
  • Lead auditing experience in food safety.
  • First rate relationship building and influencing skills with the professional courage to do what's right.


This role will require professional courage, to stand up for what is right, whilst building strong, positive and lasting relationships with key stakeholders at all levels of the business.

If you have a background in dry blend paediatrics manufacturing facilities and have experience and understand the requirements of registration of product in into China and you're ready to step up to the next big challenge to further develop your FSQ knowledge and leadership skills, then this role as part of the site management team is the role for you, with Fonterra
