THE ROLE

Our team are currently looking for a Site Foremen to join us in the delivery of a diverse civil infrastructure projects.


The site foreman will report to the Supervisor or Project Manager, and you will be responsible for ensuring the effective control and completion of onsite project works.

You will run your ground crew and manage construction activities, delegation, inspection, planning as well as quality control.


We need someone with a proven track record as a site foreman, working within the civil/ infrastructure industry with the ability to deliver quality work while promoting a strong Health and Safety culture.


  • Establish strong rapport and functional working relationships with your crew members and all subcontractors.
  • Provide close onground supervision, coaching and training of site staff.
  • Allocate staff tasks based on skills, experience and capability, and address any specific competency issues through training or redeployment to other tasks.
  • Monitor subcontractor activities to ensure time and quality targets are achieved.
  • Liaise closely with Site Supervisor, Site Engineer and Project Manager, working collaboratively and cooperatively to ensure and efficient and harmonious project environment and recommended solutions for current or potential challenges.
  • Lead and hold staff accountable to a maintaining a high standard of site presentation and organisation at their workfaces.
  • Contribute to daily setup crew meetings.
  • Take responsibility for achieving your production targets, getting on the ground or operating machinery when the task or programme demands it.
  • Develop 'Look Ahead' programmes ( 1 week /2 week/ 3weeks) providing update input for tracking as required
  • Carry out daily productivity reviews with the team and providing next day work schedule.
  • Ensure manpower and resources are adequate and available to achieve program. This includes staff scheduling and help with hiring the right team players. Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew.
  • Ensure all materials required to complete program are available before task starts.
  • Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans as provided by management.
  • Collate ideas from crew and contractors, produce, implement and review JSA's, and report any issues to the Supervisor.
  • Promote and manage the company's quality, safety and environmental policies and procedures o site ensuring that acceptable working methods / practices are implemented.
  • Monitor expenditure and ensure delivery remains within budget.
  • Comply with guidelines and regulations including permits, safety etc.
  • Hand over the resulting structures and services for use including all supporting documentation

ABOUT YOU

  • Min 3+ years proven experience as a construction foreman.
  • Trade qualified.
  • Demonstrated ability to use benchmarks and offsets / controls to construct permanent works.
  • Indepth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and health and safety guidelines
  • Ability to read drawings, plans and Inspection Test Plans.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills.
  • License to operate heavy plant equipment endorsements / licences.
  • Able to manage 110 direct reports.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Capable financial acumen relating to site/project budget.
  • Team player, not afraid to roll your sleeves up.
  • Be the glue that holds the site team together to ensure a smooth and efficient working environment.
