Position purpose


The Unit Pricing team is a customer focused specialist team; they support the business and client activities of the Operations division of BNP Paribas Securities Services (BP2S).

The team has extensive interaction and dealings with various managers and all teams within the Operations division as well as other internal BNP Paribas Securities Services teams such as the Risk Function and Relationship Management teams.


The Unit Pricing team is responsible for ensuring the timeliness, accuracy and integrity of daily transactional and performance unit prices.

This includes responsibility for the investigation, management and resolution of any client queries and issues.

The daily client deliverables run to very tight timeframes, therefore there is considerable pressure on the team to produce the reports and information accurately and on time.

Unit Pricing is one of the last functions and activities in the fund administration chain and is therefore ultimately accountable for ensuring that any material data errors and variances are picked up and rectified before reports and prices go out to the Clients.


Emphasis is placed on transactional unit pricing due to the process being a daily function with tight deadlines and inaccurate work can result in costs to BP2S, in terms of reputation and financial costs.

This work requires that the incumbent has a high degree of initiative and strong analytical skills.

The Unit Pricing Analyst plays an important role in the service delivered and meeting our clients' pricing requirements. They contribute to effective communication lines between themselves, the client and the wider team.

Communication is always proactive whenever possible, with each team member taking personal responsibility for managing prosperous relationships with their client contacts.

In order to continue to add value to our clients the Unit Pricing Analyst must endeavor to stay up to date on all current and relative legislative and regulatory requirements with an emphasis on NZ specific requirements, trends, and initiatives.

They are to continuously develop this market specific knowledge in parallel to understanding of the technical aspects of pricing.

Key responsibilities

  • Coordinate with internal and external customers as necessary

  • Escalate issues which cannot be resolved by the themselves

  • Assisting with related systems, process or internal change initiatives and process improvements
  • Ongoing knowledge development and industry knowledge
  • Actively participate in regular meeting times, 1on1's and group discussions

Technical and behavioural competencies

  • Good product knowledge in domestic and international securities and funds management.
  • Exposure to fund accounting and performance analytics is desirable

Qualification and experience

  • Tertiary Qualification in Business, Accounting or related discipline;.
  • Other Post Graduate or Industry qualifications welcome but not essential
