About the role


The Regulatory Interventions unit sits within the CAAs' System Practice & Design Group, alongside the policy development and the operational practice and guidance functions.

The purpose of the Regulatory Interventions' Unit is to design targeted interventions to resolve safety issues that evade traditional regulatory responses.

The Senior Intervention Analyst plays a key role in identifying and characterising persistent or emerging aviation safety risks.

They will use information from air safety investigations and the CAA and intelligence function or any other sources to develop concise problem statements.


Once the safety risks/problems have been defined adequately, the Senior Analyst will focus on using analytical process and relevant data, information, and intelligence to identify the probable causes of those risks/problems in such a way that interventions can be designed to address the identified causal factors and enable the safety risks to be effectively mitigated.


The Senior Interventions Analyst will work with various CAA regulatory units to oversee and coordinate the delivery of intervention tasks and products ensuring the outcomes delivered address the root causes identified within the initial identification of the risk.

  • A firm grasp of the principles of Project Management.
