Position Purpose:

Perform Telecom / IT-related activities, SW upgrades of Network devices including Layer-3 devices like Router and switches, providing the Fibre installations & guidelines as per industry standards, CPE equipment configuration, Network devices like Routers/Switches installation & configurations, and remote management, Data centre design, cable installations guidelines, CCTV camera configuration, Data cabling, etc.


Main tasks:

Core objectives include:

  • Telecom Fibre cable & equipment configuration and installations, conduct network testing, troubleshooting & maintenance
.Guidelines for Telecom Fibre cable & equipment installations, end-to-end testing, troubleshooting & maintenance

  • Design the UFB/FTTx network using the Arc GIS tool, and keep track of the network inventory data for COs and the related asbuilt fibre infrastructure.
  • Network devices configuration, troubleshooting & maintenance
  • Daily operational assistance for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of CPE equipment provided to the field workers
  • Data centre design, Asbuilt record management, troubleshooting & maintenance
  • IT Network Infrastructure operational support (configuration, troubleshooting, & maintenance)
  • Remote assistance for network device configuration, software updates, and management (Router/Switches) from Juniper, Cisco, and Nokia vendors.

  • Telecom Network Design
  • Domain hosting and maintaining active directory records for customers.
  • Asbuilt design preparations and submissions
  • IT Network Design
  • Complete other relevant duties as directed by management or other department staff.

Qualifications:
Engineering background / Diploma / Bachelor Degree


  • WTC1, WTC2, WTC3 & WTC4 training and certifications or similar training or willing to do such training
  • Traffic Management i.e. L1TC & STMS1 or similar training or willing to do such training
  • First Aid
  • Valid Full Driving License (Negotiable)
  • Network Know How, assessment and training on CHORUS Build and Connect Network, if already worked on CHORUS network or similar training
  • Level 4 and above education with experience of a minimum of 10 years, or Level 5 / Level 6 education with 6 years of experience.
  • Bachelor of Engineering (NZQF Level 7) with 5 years of experience

Experience:

. 4-5 Years experience in the Chorus fiber network or Similar UFB/FTTx network anywhere

.Ability to manage projects as Team Lead, manage work and diversified teams

  • Ability to write the SOPs of Fibre cable installation, surface mount, underground and aerial etc.
  • Ability to use efficient fibreblowing and Splicing machines
  • Ability to install, configure, troubleshoot and maintain the CPE, SWITCH, and Routers
  • Ability to troubleshoot IT Network equipment and have a good understanding of network standard design and infrastructure including all types of cables (Copper/Fibre)
  • Have been working on CHORUS Network as TL is preferred or having similar experience as team lead

Skills & competencies:

  • Handon experience in network equipment installation, configuring and maintenance for devices like routers/Switches.
  • Design, documentation, and installation of fibre and structural cables for data centres
