The role
We have an opportunity for an experienced Commercial Manager to join the Hawkins team. This is a key role responsible for the setup of commercial arrangements and on-going commercial and project financial management.


You will also ensure management of budgets, reviewing costs to complete, tender reviews, programming reviews, progress claims and variation, cash flow forecasting, contract set up and reviews, project reporting, dispute/claim management and project close out.

As well your technical expertise, it is important that you can effectively lead your direct reports through positive means.

About you:

  • Currently in a Commercial Manager or Senior Quantity Surveyor position with a minimum of 10 years' experience; working on commercial or civil construction projects
  • Comfortable working with a range of people clients, consultants, senior management.
  • The desire to support a projectled business
  • A Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying or similar relevant qualification preferred.
  • Great teamwork and people skills. You'll be comfortable working with a wide range of people including clients, consultants and senior management
  • Excellent NZ contract law knowledge
  • Excellent financial literacy and exposure to Jobpac or a similar financial control package would be highly desirable
  • Advanced computer literacy; particularly in Excel
