We seek an experienced Health & Safety Leader with a proven track record in managing complex organisations to join us as a Director of Health & Safety. This pivotal role involves overseeing comprehensive Health & Safety Management while building organisational capacity and capability.   • Develop, govern, and implement an effective Health & Safety strategy and annual assurance programme to ensure risks are effectively managed.
  • Ensure alignment of H&S initiatives, with business strategies and business goals across the Group through internal and external engagement and partnerships.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to develop strategies and tactics to enhance operational safety performance.
  • Develop an operational engagement plan to ensure H&S team understand operational challenges to support development of reasonably practicable solutions.
  • Lead digital enablement of H&S solution for a seamless and digital end user experience.
  • Coach, lead and develop the Health & Safety team across our New Zealand and Australia business.
  • Prepare Board updates and serve as our Emergency Response Team's Health & Safety representative.
  • Facilitate development and review of the T+T Group Health & Safety policy and objectives.
  • Engage with the Group Leadership Team and the Board to enhance understanding of risk management, emerging risks, and opportunities for innovative practices.
  • Provide strategic guidance and coaching to senior management to increase their understanding and commitment to the Heath and Safety framework and goals.
  • Manage budgets for Health and Safety

You will have at least 15 years of Health & Safety experience, demonstrating an advanced and integrated understanding of Health & Safety knowledge. Ideally, you will have worked in Construction, Engineering or a similar industry and possess NZISM certification and IOSH chartership.

You will be able to effectively engage with senior stakeholders, a Board, and a Group Leadership Team. You will be adept at navigating an ever-evolving environment and introducing forward-thinking concepts. We recognize that our people are our most valuable asset. Therefore, you will be an inspiring leader who can influence our business to consistently achieve positive Health & Safety outcomes.
