**Mō te tūnga | About the role**
Te Toka Tumai, Auckland, has recently become the recommended provider of overall service leadership for the North Island Sarcoma services, bringing together the clinical services onto the Auckland City Hospital site whilst continuing to work in close partnership with expert sarcoma diagnostics (pathology and radiology) and plastic surgery teams at Counties Manukau.

The clinical director will lead and oversee the implementation and clinical direction of the service. The role offers a unique opportunity to significantly impact the lives of sarcoma patients and their whānau in New Zealand. Collaborating with the wider multidisciplinary team, you will shape the future of sarcoma care for the North Island, enhancing patient experiences and outcomes.

**Pehea | About You**
To be successful in the role you will have demonstrated clinical and leadership skills, although this may be your first time in a Service Clinical Director role. You will play a key role in fostering a safe, resilient, and productive workforce and will have direct experience working in our Surgical Team.

As the ideal person for this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:

- A relevant health discipline background (e.g., medicine, nursing, allied health) with appropriate professional registration
- A commitment to equity and health gain for Māori
- Demonstrated outstanding clinical skills and experience in sarcoma managementA flexible and collaborative leadership style with experience in organisation and management of clinical teams.
- Proven leadership abilities with the capacity to drive positive change in healthcare
- In-depth understanding of the NZ sarcoma landscape and its challenges
- Strong communication and collaboration skills in working effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- An ability to adopt innovative solutions and approaches to complex situations and challenges

This is a 0.2FTE commitment and can be integrated into an existing role alongside other professional commitments.

We provide health and disability services to more than half a million people living in central Auckland, regional services for Northland and greater Auckland, and specialist national services for the whole of New Zealand.
