Tātaki Auckland Unlimited (TAU) is a council-controlled organisation (CCO) established with an important mandate to drive investment, supporting Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland businesses to innovate and thrive, enhancing Auckland as a culturally vibrant city, telling the Tāmaki Makaurau story, and importantly providing experiences and opportunities for all.


Based at our Comcen and reporting to the General Manager of Security and Visitor Safety, the Security Manager's role is to oversee our Operations room and Mobile Patrol space.

You will be responsible in ensuring staff adhere to best practices, as well as understanding and operationalize stakeholder requirements:

  • You'll lead a team of security personnel.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, and scheduling.
  • Set development objectives. Collaborate with the Security Development Advisor to deliver training sessions.

About you
You will have a great depth of experience within the securities industry including being able to demonstrate industry knowledge.

With a growth mindset, you are a people person who is passionate about assisting others and identifying ways to make processes more efficient.

You are a team player with excellent organization and interpersonal skills exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to solve complex problems, you will also display the following:

  • Proven leadership experience with strong collaboration skills.
  • Experience in incident management and security operations.
  • Adept at leading teams through crises using the NZ CIMS model.
  • Skilled in conducting thorough accident and incident investigations.
  • Proficient in utilizing Gallagher access control and Milestone CCTV systems, with an understanding of privacy regulations.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and conflict resolution skills.
To be successful in this role, you will need to hold a Certificate of Approval (COA), a full New Zealand driver's license, and an NZQA National Certificate in Security (Level 3)
