The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced senior modeller to provide technical direction and expertise across the organisation in relation to the development of strategic and operational wastewater models.

This assists in supporting the region's growth agenda with water infrastructure, planning and network performance as well as developing strategies and policies for urban development and Civil Engineering Practice.

About you

To be successful in this role you will bring:

  • tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline (such as engineering or science)
- at least 10 years experience in hydraulic and/or hydrology modelling in wastewater using InfoWorks ICM
- knowledge and experience in the design of drainage and water infrastructure as well as experience in project, contract and relationship management
- knowledge of the latest hydraulic and/or hydrology modelling techniques and methodologies
- experience in assessing land development proposals and awareness of Resource Management Act and Building Act processes
- experience with GIS preferred.


Being a senior modeller is more than being technically capable; as you'll be a demonstrated team player with great communication skills who is self-motivated and keen to learn in a growing industry.

Your experience can be in either the private sector or public sector but wherever you come from, you will thrive in the role if you have a desire to deliver a difference to the councils and community we work for.
