We are looking for a **Senior Data Warehouse Designer** for one of our clients in Wellington, New Zealand.

**Short Description**:
Suppose your passion is to work with analysing complex source systems and modelling data structures, definitions, relationships, and mapping these to the requirements of the data warehouse. Then this role is for you.

**About the role**:
We are looking for a senior data warehouse designer with a strong track record leading the design of large/complex dimensionally modelled data warehouses, as well as being a strong communicator with senior business stakeholders.

**About you**:
This is a very senior role. To be considered for this role you will need to have _**ALL**_ of the following:

- Highly experienced at analysing complex source systems and modelling data structures, definitions, relationships, and mapping these to the requirements of the data warehouse.
- Understanding of modern ELT processing design/patterns for populating a dimensional model.
- Advanced SQL skills (preferably in Snowflake) to build queries to profile data and validate designs.
- Experienced at writing detailed design specifications for developers.
- Excellent written and oral communication / presentation skills with senior business leaders and an ability to convey complex ideas clearly and concisely and able to facilitate and document business requirements discovery.
- Overall strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

In addition, experience in the following areas would be advantageous:

- Scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Perl, Bash,.NET
- Cloud-based technology, such as Azure or Amazon Web Services
- Information management, data quality governance processes

You will most likely have a relevant tertiary qualification and have at least **15** years of data warehouse experience. Consulting experience in industries such as banking, insurance, energy, telco and/or government is also advantageous.
