Senior Media Adviser

MFAT is looking for a skilled senior media adviser to join its high performing team.

Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

In this role you will:

  • Provide expert proactive and reactive advice and implement media management strategies
  • Manage the Ministry's interface with the media, including oncall liaison
  • Have a flair for turning the complex into the easy to understand
  • Demonstrate a sound understanding of the machinery of government
  • Work with the wider Communications Team to help deliver projects and campaigns


The appointment range for this role $117,541 to $159,025 total remuneration including employer contribution to kiwisaver - negotiable depending on experience.

This is not a Foreign Policy/diplomatic role. This is a 'Corporate' role (known here as a Specialist role) based in central Wellington, NZ.
