In this exciting new role, you will be using your medical leadership skills and work in partnership with the Manager Strategic Clinical Advice & Governance to strengthen clinical leadership and Māori health.


You will lead the strengthening of the clinical maturity of the Māori Health team by bringing your clinical knowledge and experience together with your Māori health expertise to the Māori Health programmes of work.


You will also use your broad clinical knowledge and experience to assist the Manager Strategic Clinical Advice & Governance in ensuring the Chief Clinical Officer is informed on strategic clinical issues and opportunities; and provide quality advice to support clinical decision making at ACC for specific areas of interest, whether they be scheme boundary issues, emerging clinical evidence-related, sector or system wide topics.

Ko wai koe | About you

  • A vocationally registered medical health professional from a medical background with current annual practising certificate. Ideally working towards or have a qualification in medical administration, MBA, FRACMA or equivalent.
  • Significant professional standing and credibility in the New Zealand clinical community, in particular within the area of Māori health and Kaupapa Māori health services.
  • Strong Iwi networks and an understanding of the Māori/Iwi health sector.
  • Good knowledge of Te Reo me ōna nei tikanga.
  • An active commitment to and working knowledge of the Treaty of Waitangi.
  • Highly effective influencing and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to engage people at all levels.

The base salary range for this role is approximately $205k - $240k with a generous 9% superannuation contribution depending on skills and experience.
