The opportunity:

As Head of Sales, your responsibility is to ensure that all the Skills' Specialist Trade businesses achieve their pre trades and apprenticeship enrolment targets and consume funding across all programmes and funding pools.

This role shall develop and execute sales strategies to grow the Specialist Trades businesses, while developing and nurturing nationwide industry partnerships.


Job Description Your key responsibilities:

Develop and lead the execution of our Specialist Trades sales strategies, tactics, and action plans Work closely with the senior leadership teams in all regions to align sales team activities and engagements Build strong regional and national relationships with partners who can supply a steady pipeline of enrolments including with MSD, schools, community organisations and youth network providers Build strong and sustainable relationships with medium to large New Zealand businesses to leverage these and become their preferred provider of in-work-training – utilising government funding Establish partnerships with larger employers in growth sectors with labour shortages – and work with them to create pathways to work performance Lead an enrolment & business development focused team across the various campuses that are customer focused, engaging, knowledgeable and professional with a focus on achieving targets Nurture and grow Skills' Group Employment Scheme through the persuasive articulation of the value proposition of the Scheme to prospective hosts Ensure that appropriate sales disciplines are followed within the team to meet all compliance requirements and enable accurate reporting.

Ensure alignment with sales team on focuses (integration of Work Based Learning (WBL) vs campus approach)Build a team culture that is collaborative and committed to the overall success of the team and wider organisation Operate as the bridge between the sales, product, marketing, and operational delivery teams to ensure that all groups operate collaboratively and are aligned on our sales and marketing strategies and delivery requirements Responsible for the preparation of detailed reports, including compilation of trading metrics for board reporting purposes Working closely with Finance to track consumption by programme against each TEC funding pool for ongoing and budget setting purposes Responsible for department budgets, forecasting and meeting agreed sales targets Actively contribute to and provide thought leadership for the Sales Leadership team, supporting your peers to perform to the best of their ability Desired Skills and Experience Degree or qualification(s) relevant to Sales/Marketing/Business Experience within PTE or Trades environment High degree of commercial acumen Proven experience managing and leading teams to deliver ambitious targets Inspirational leadership skills, including a track record of creating highly engaged, high-performing teams A collaborative style and approach that thrives in a performance-orientated and customer-centric environment A strong track record in senior sales leadership roles within large, customer-centric organisations At Skills Group, we are more than a team, we are a family.
