Safe, Strong Families and Communities supports a wide range of programmes and initiatives aimed at preventing and reducing vulnerability and harm for individuals, whānau and communities.

It also funds and manages a number of key relationships with the social services sector.

About the role - Te āhuatunga a te tūranga
The role of the Lead Advisor is to provide operational leadership for one of SSFC's key community projects.

The role will focus on leading the design and implementation of a new service model to support rural community access to services, in partnership with community, whānau and other agencies.

A key function of this role is engaging with national and regional stakeholders to test the service model as well as to improve service availability in rural and isolated areas.

Hence your experience in supporting service design and stakeholder engagement will be critical to this role.

We are seeking positive individuals, with relevant prior experience in community and social services, or government and the social commissioning cycle.

You will need excellent relationship management skills and be able to demonstrate how you have contributed to making your working environments great places to work.

You will also be able to demonstrate your ability to develop practical solutions for complex problems with a focus on getting the job done To be successful in the role you will:

  • Be able to demonstrate strong leadership and mentoring capabilities within a team environment
  • Have the ability to create service blueprints, guidelines and an operating framework
  • Have the ability to lead a complex work programme in pursuit of a key goal or outcome involving a wide range of key stakeholders
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity but be able to define a path through that ambiguity
  • Be able to plan and manage delivery to agreed timelines
  • Have a demonstrated ability of working collaboratively but also to influence and manage the expectations of others as required to ensure progress is made and timelines are met
  • Lead and manage reporting to senior and executive internal MSD management
  • Be an innovative thinker that can provide practical solutions for complex issues

Salary range
78,027.00 to 117,041.00
