What do we do

The Organisational Planning, Performance and Governance team provides important services to the Chief Executive, the Leadership Team and the Ministers in relation to organisational strategic planning and decision making, governance and budget processes.

What you'll be doing

The Senior Advisor Budget will be responsible to contribute to the annual Budget process across MSD, through the provision of high-quality objective analysis and support to the Manager Budget and Crown Entities and the Principal Advisor Budget across a broad range of areas including leading the preparation of content and presentation materials for the Budget.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • Proven experience operating at a senior advisory level
  • Sound understanding of and experience in government policy, external budget, accountability and appropriation processes
  • Demonstrated experience in leading external budget processes
  • Strong influencing and relationship management skills, and be able to quickly establish credibility and trust
  • Good understanding of the machinery of government is essential
  • The ability to work under pressure in a fastchanging and ambitious environment
