Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity Our Senior Advisor, System Design plays a key role in supporting the National Manager System Design and the System Design Leadership Team and working our Ministerial Services to manage the timely completion of high-quality communication, correspondence and briefings.

Key responsibilities include

  • Reviewing and managing the approval of highlevel communications and correspondence such as briefings, reports, submissions and notes
  • Being the Ministerial Services point of contact for the National Manager System Design
  • Actioning requests to coordinate communication and correspondence and proactively ensure responses meet deadlines
  • Providing essential Secretariat support to the System Design Leadership Team.
Ko koe tēnei | About you As our successful Senior Advisor, you will bring:

  • A genuine interest to build on, or develop an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori
  • Experience in managing Ministerial or Executive briefings and correspondence in central or local government
  • Highly effective planning and organisational skills, including superb prioritisation and the ability to operate at pace when required
  • Strong report and paper writing skills with the ability to provide concise summaries
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships across Waka Kotahi and key partners
  • Experience in providing Secretariat support would be advantageous
