About the role:

We are thrilled to recruit for this new and exciting opportunity for a sole charge payroll professional. This role will be responsible for the accurate and timely payroll processing for approximately 240 employees, ensuring compliance with New Zealand legislation, as well as internal policies and audit procedures. The purpose of this position is to lead the charge towards automation and systems integration, overseeing HRIS and Payroll systems to enhance efficiency and provide valuable insights through comprehensive reporting and analysis.

Some of your responsibilities will include:

Payroll

  • End to end preparation and processing of payroll for employees (weekly waged, monthly salaried and ad-hoc)
  • Manage and administer payroll related benefit programmes (KiwiSaver, superannuation, health insurance, employee share purchase plan, Flexibility, etc)
  • Prepare payroll reports
HRIS
  • Enhance the performance of payroll system to get optimal results through a deep technical understanding of the system
  • Partner with external vendor to develop new functions, payments, reports, in payroll system
  • Conduct regular audits of HRIS data to ensure data integrity between systems and compliance with legal and Company requirements
  • Leading the continuous evaluation and enhancement of HR systems to support integration ambition
  • Enhance robustness of payroll processes that enable automation where possible
About you:
  • 3-5 years of experience in payroll
  • A strong understanding of employment and holidays legislation, PAYE, Accident Compensation Claims and Parental leave
  • Excellent systems knowledge and skills – Workday, Oracle, SAP or similar HRIS and/or Payroll
  • Proven examples of system improvements and enhancements in previous roles
  • Advanced MS Excel and Office Suite skills (including the ability to link data from various sources, create pivot tables, effectively use Vlookup, Hlookup or Xlookup formulas, mail merge, create charts)
  • Excellent attention to detail and focus on accuracy
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of technical transactions in payroll system and understand system capabilities
  • Knowledge of PowerBI or any other analytical systems
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration
  • Continuous improvement focus
