Mō tēnei tūranga | About this role


Working in a tight knit team you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of accurate and timely payroll processing for our people.


You will be responsible for:

  • Processing payroll activities within agreed deadlines (i.e. leave tasks, one off payments, terminations, ACC and overpayments)
  • Completing payroll calculations to ensure our people are paid in accordance with their employment agreements
  • Resolving payroll queries and discrepancies by collecting and analysing information
  • Responding to queries and requests, providing customer focussed solutions to meet business needs

Mōhou ake | About you


We are looking for someone ideally with some HR or payroll end to end processing experience, who understands the importance of a great payroll function, who is looking to grow their payroll / HR career and make a difference in a large organisation.


You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori.

You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.


You will also demonstrate:

  • Experience providing customer advice, in a highvolume work environment
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation to HR and Payroll (e.g. Holidays Act 2003, Parental Leave and Employment Protection Act 1987, and Employment Relations Act 2000)
  • Experience with HR or Payroll systems, preferably Success Factors
  • Good analytical and numeracy skills


To be successful you will be collaborative, with the ability to build strong relationships across the People, Sustainability and Place team.
