Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity As a Principal Advisor in our Long-term System Planning team, you will play a key role in the development of Arataki, Waka Kotahi's 30-year plan.

The 30 year system plan for the land transport system involves looking at everything that impacts on the network ( such as climate change, growth patterns etc) to everything that the network impacts on (such as biodiversity, equitable access, air quality etc).

As a thought leader, you will be collaborating with a range of others in house, and across the public sector on planning and supporting decision-making that contributes to achieving Waka Kotahi's long-term goals and those of central government.

You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.

Please note - This is not a role that requires a background in technical transport knowledge. Ko wai mātou | About us At Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency, it all starts with our people.

The organisation's performance and success depends on the people who choose to make this a great place to work and make a difference for Aotearoa.

Transport Services is an end-to-end business group that focuses on our land transport system - from policy and planning, through design and delivery, to maintenance and operations.

We have some of the most capable and motivated people in the industry providing a land transport system that enhances the way New Zealanders live, travel work and connect.
