The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention.

We have a permanent, part or full-time opportunity for a
Regional Compliance, Environmental and Border Health Development and Delivery Lead working under the leadership the Kaitataki's Health Protection and Community and Whanau Wellbeing with the Professional leaders and clinical partners will be accountable for developing regional programmes of work.


The primary organisational impact of the position is to support the development and programme delivery for Compliance, Environmental and Boarder Health aspects of health protection across the region, meeting the Service's performance expectations.

You will be a strong leader and influencer with experience in health programme development, planning, performance reporting, machinery of government, cross-sector working and effective influence.

You are able to lead change, innovation, capability development and quality improvement across a service and use sound judgement to develop options and provide advice.


Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience

  • Has a minimum of 3 years' experience in health programme development with strong project management skills
  • A Bachelors qualification or equivalent experience and experience in machinery of government
  • Experience in leading change, innovation and service and quality improvement initiatives
  • Experience in matrix and multidisciplinary working models
  • Experience in working with iwi/ hapū and Māori communities
  • Understanding and experience working in partnerships with Pacific communities
