The Role


As an Associate Manager, you will play a pivotal part in supporting the management team to lead, drive, develop and inspire your team to achieve overall success.

The goal for our Associate's is to learn the business Your initial 6-months is key in developing your skills and understanding the dynamics of JD Sports from an operational, commercial and People management perspective.

And most importantly, how you can utilise your unique skillset within the business.


The Associate Manager is an additional management position, working in partnership with our existing management teams for our flagship stores.

The objective of this role is to give you the opportunity to be trained and upskilled, ensuring you are prepared and ready for your next step in your JD journey, as a Store Manager.

You will also be responsible for, but not limited to the following:

  • Work in partnership with your collaborating Store Manager
  • Lead by example and set management expectations across your team
  • Manage all levels of performance, providing support and training where required
  • Train, mentor, and coach Team Members to work towards professional goals and succession planning
  • Manage team (Shop Floor & Back of House) to ensure tasks are completed in an efficient and effective manner
  • Problem solving and ability to readily provide solutions
  • Produce and analyse required financial reports i.e., Payroll
  • Support with the overall growth of the business in line with our global vision
  • Proactive approach in loss prevention management i.e., Stock shrinkage
  • Ensure mannequins, displays and windows are updated in accordance with Visual Merchandising guidelines
  • Work in partnership with your Visual Merchandise team to make commercial based decisions regarding stock presentation/placement

Who You Are

  • An experienced and versatile retailer with a minimum of 35 years' management experience in a flagship retail environment
  • Experience in training, coaching, and developing team members
  • Learned experience in successfully driving and exceeding set KPI's
  • Experience in effectively managing rosters and wage control
  • Elevated level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, tasks, and overall expectations
