The Ministerial Services team, part of our Corporate Services group, provides strategic and operational guidance, advice and support in the areas of private secretarial services, information management, government accountability documents and processes, Official Information Act requests, Ministerials, output plans, business planning and reporting processes.

As the Senior Adviser - Information Management you will champion information management capability across Te Mānatu Waka and provide expert advice and support to Ministry staff on information, library and records management.

This is a hands on role where you will have the opportunity to build networks and make a real difference across the Ministry as you work to embed information management best practice.


This role is also responsible for:

  • leading the implementation of our knowledge management work programme
- developing and leading training on information management
- supporting a culture of information as an asset

- in-depth knowledge of records management systems and sound knowledge of the requirements of the Public Records Act
- success in delivering solutions and supporting change to achieve results
- strong communication skills to be able to proactively engage and build effective relationships across Te Mānatu Waka at all levels of the organisation
- be skilled at working collaboratively, both internally to ensure good business outcomes, and with other agencies to facilitate common information management practices
- the confidence to work independently as well as be a keen team player
- the ability to obtain high level national security clearance


This is a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Adviser to operate at the centre, working closely with all teams across the Ministry, the Minister's Office and key stakeholders across government and the transport sector.
