A recruiter is looking for a proven senior operations professional to join their clients growing and ambitious business, designers, and producers of naturally sourced, handcrafted rugs and carpets.

You'll play a critical part in growing this brand in new markets and categories, always delivering on the organisations promise to enrich and elevate people's lives by creating a natural place of connection between people and their everyday living and working environments.

With customers searching for design-led and naturally sourced interior products for their fashionable homes, retail spaces, hotels or restaurants, this role will suit someone with a strong commercial or personal connection to the world of quality products, interiors, design, even architecture.

Your connection or passion for this space must be underpinned by a highly disciplined and results-driven operations career.

Specifically, the sourcing and manufacturing of quality products, partnered with the operational side of importing and delivering these products to market effectively and efficiently.

You'll be able to confidentially speak to examples in your career that directly contributed to meeting critical operational business goals.

Reporting directly to the CEO and leading an existing team of two, this Head of Operations position will be responsible for overseeing the entire operations of the business, specifically manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, quality control, and inventory management.

A pivotal role in ensuring operational efficiency, optimising production processes, and leading the business toward achieving strategic objectives.
Your leadership and management expertise will drive the operational excellence that supports the organsations growth and profitability targets.

You will also play a crucial part in the nationwide launch of a new, yet piloted category, of high-end carpet to the NZ market.

This evolved offering brings with it an entirely new set of operational procedures and systems that will need to be built, tested and rolled out from scratch.

The breakdown

We are looking for an operations expert with:
Minimum 8 years total commercial experience
Minimum of 4 years of experience in operations management with expertise in inventory forecasting, controls, and reporting
Experience leading and guiding a business through a period of operational growth and transformation would be advantageous
Proficient in using ERP systems, Excel, and data analysis tools

Some key responsibilities are:
Lead and manage the operations team to ensure that all operational goals are met, including product quality, delivery timelines, cost reduction, and inventory levels
Develop and implement operational strategies that align with the company's objectives and market demand
Build and execute effective and accurate inventory planning and purchasing strategies supported by appropriate systems to manage inventory levels efficiently
Optimise supply chain processes to ensure efficient material flow, reduce lead times, and improve cost-effectiveness
Managing key external supplier relationships and measuring service quality, i.e.
warehousing and logistics suppliers
Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to forecast demand and ensure inventory availability
Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce waste, and minimise costs
Ensure compliance with industry standards, environmental regulations, and health and safety guidelines
Develop and monitor operational metrics to assess performance and implement corrective actions when necessary
