Te Whatu Ora-Health New Zealand and Te Aka Whai Ora-Māori Health Authority will together shape the delivery of health services in Aotearoa for generations to come and will form the core of a modern and integrated service looking after the needs of all our whānau.

Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
Join the Community Health System Improvement & Innovation team as Principal Advisor, Contract Support.

This role will lead the development and management of effective stakeholder relationships and provide quality strategic policy and business advice to support the wider group.

Although this role is largely focused on policy, strong data analysis skills will also be key to supporting the team.

Day to day you will be contributing to a number of key projects undertaken by the team, from service design to new programme implementation.

The team you will join is diverse and supportive, and you'll interact with colleagues around the motu.
Mōu | About you
You are an experienced Principal Advisor looking for a fresh opportunity. Ideally, you'll have 2-3 years as a Principal under your belt.

You're a strong writer with operational policy skills and an ability to provide sound advice and communicate that advice well.

Your career has seen you gain experience in dealing with government processes, and you are confident operating in an ambiguous environment.

Relationship Management is something that comes naturally to you, and you can manage relationships and connections with a diverse range of stakeholders at all levels.

The idea of working within Improvement & Innovation appeals, and you're capable of thoughtleadership and coaching staff.

As the team works from around the motu, you will need to be comfortable in a hybrid environment where online meetings and collaboration are the norm.

This role requires and/or would benefit from the following;

  • Competency with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a willingness to learn and grow
  • Proven organisational skills with the ability to think ahead, use initiative, establish priorities and meet deadlines whilst preserving high levels of accuracy
  • Demonstrated analytical ability, critical thinking and sound judgement, in particular, the ability to review and articulate complex situations and information
