Te Puna Aonui is a small unit, with a big role.

Established as an Interdepartmental Executive Board (IEB) our mandate is to ensure there is clear, joint accountability across government for work relating to the elimination of family violence and sexual violence.

As the centre of expertise that stewards the Family Violence and Sexual Violence System and Cross-Agency Strategy, Te Aorerekura, we work in partnership with the communities we serve and always hold survivors, family, and whanau at the centre of everything we do.


Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role


You will lead the development and delivery off it for purpose systems and support so that we can be a high performing and high functioning unit.

This includes Finance and Procurement, Risk and Assurance, People, Information Management, Internal Governance, Planning and Reporting, Workforce planning, as well as our administration support.

We are hosted by the Ministry of Justice, so you will work closely with the shared services functions there as well.


As a key part of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), you will work to understand our current and future needs, ensuring cohesive and timely solutions and practices.

You will champion our commitment to cross functional ways of working as well as our values ensuring these are an integral part of everything we do and that we are enabling our people to do their best.

Along with all ELT members you also have a shared responsibility for ensuring Te Puna Aonui is a well-run unit, with a great culture, that delivers effectively on its role.


Ko wai koe | About you**You bring broad experience leading business enablement functions, with a strong focus on delivery and continuous improvement. You may have held a planning and performance or corporate services role, and you are known for making your organisations work better and smarter. A proven and inspiring people leader and colleague, you are relationship focussed and always learning. A sound understanding of central government processes is a must, along with a visible commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
