Two exciting opportunities are now available for Director roles supporting the Offices of the Deputy Chief Executives (DCE) in two distinct areas - the Strategy and Insights (S&I) Group and Māori, Communities and Partnerships (MCP) Group.
Mō te tīma / About our teams

The Strategy and Insights Group leads the development and implementation of the Ministry's strategy by creating insights for effective decision making, focusing resources on the right investments, understanding, and evaluating performance and supporting the alignment of the organisation to achieve its purpose.
The Māori, Communities and Partnerships Group is responsible for building capability across MSD to support the aspirations of Māori and connecting and collaborating to build effective partnerships and community approaches that achieve better outcomes for those who most need our support.
Te āhuatunga a te tūranga / About the roles
These strategic leadership positions play pivotal roles in facilitating the effective functioning of the respective groups, through managing key relationships, overseeing critical projects, and ensuring proactive communication with all relevant stakeholders.
As the Director of the Office of the DCE, S&I, you will be integral in nurturing strategic relationships, managing the DCE's workflow and responsibilities, and contributing to the group's strategy. Additionally, you'll oversee significant issues and represent S&I on tight-deadline projects, often marked by their complexity, risk and large stakeholder groups. You'll also lead the Social Sector Commissioning Hub, supporting the sector through transformative changes including the development of sustainable funding models and client-centred design.
In the role of Director DCE's Office, MCP, you will lead or oversee critical projects and significant high-risk issues, ensuring the proactive and effective management of risk, issue management, communications, and media profile. As a key support for the DCE and a member of the MCP Leadership Team, you will manage the DCE's workflow and responsibilities and advocate MCP's position through strategic, credible relationships with key stakeholders nationally and internationally.
Both positions offer the chance to work in complex, dynamic environments, contributing to the fulfilment of the groups' strategic intents and key performance indicators.

- A well-rounded understanding of both strategy and operations

- To be outcomes focused, and prepared to get stuck in to achieve desired outcomes
- Excellent planning, and written and verbal communication skills
