Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand Greg Tims & Associates Full time

K'aute Pasifika has a well-established 20-year history of supporting people and their families to make meaningful changes that benefit their health and wellbeing, with their primary focus being to improve the holistic wellbeing of Pacific communities.

They are currently implementing a strategy to establish a comprehensive and well-integrated primary care service within a Pacific oriented model of care based in a new Pacific village setting in Hamilton.

In this important role, you will be responsible for leading the project delivery of this significant workstream over the next 12 months.

You be an influential member of a small project team, and work in partnership with a Clinical Lead, most likely a General Practitioner.

Key areas of focus and accountability will include development of the specifications for this new service, which are to be founded on existing relevant local, regional and national health and wellbeing data and associated service delivery models, as well as overseeing the establishment and launching of the new General Practice, while ensuring its integration with planned ongoing allied services and engaging key stakeholder groups including community and the wider health sector.

There will also be oversight of the recruitment of the new team, ensuring that best practice clinical and operational policies are in place, along with the required business tools and processes, and also securing relevant funding and/or contracts.

To be considered for this role, you will have worked in a primary health care delivery environment, ideally in a senior leadership role.

Familiarity with general practice delivery requirements is essential, as is having good working relationships with community groups, PHOs, Te Whatu Ora Waikato and the Ministry of Health.

Excellent presentation, written and oral communication skills, along with a warm and engaging personal style, are also highly sought-after attributes.

A strong personal affinity and empathy with Pacific people, is highly desirable.

This challenging, exciting and diverse senior role will appeal to someone who wants to lead the establishment of a new health and well-being service for Pacific people in Hamilton and the wider region, something that that will have an ongoing intergenerational impact.
