About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate leader to step into the role of Manager Mental Health Quality & Practice within our Pae Ora Services business group while we permanently appoint into the position.
Reporting to the Chief Mental Health & Addictions Officer, this role leads a dedicated team focused on developing and improving mental health practice and policy across Ara Poutama Aotearoa. You will provide subject matter expertise and strategic leadership to ensure safe, high-quality mental health services are delivered to people in prison.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of mental health strategy and practice frameworks.
- Drive quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to align services with sector standards and legislation.
- Support national clinical governance and operational policy development.
- Champion inclusive leadership and professional development within the team.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has at least 7 years' experience as a mental health clinician.
- Brings strategic thinking and leadership experience in health settings.
- Has strong knowledge of mental health practice, policy, and legislation.
- Demonstrates a commitment to working effectively with Maori and upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
- Is a respected leader with a track record of driving change and building collaborative relationships.
- Has experience in developing clinical policies, quality frameworks, and service design.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Relevant tertiary qualification in mental health or related field.
- Proven leadership experience in the health sector.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
