Required abilities:
- Drain laying
- Earth Works
- Roading Construction
- Retaining Walls
Responsibilities:
- Installing, repairing, and maintaining drainage systems to ensure they comply with local council specifications and standards.
- Digging for the installation of sewer and stormwater drainage lines, covering both large and small-scale projects.
- Excavation Works, including cut-to-fill operations, final trimming, and site preparation.
- General all-round knowledge of construction skills and techniques, with the ability to assist in a variety of construction tasks.
- Retaining Wall Construction: Erecting and reinforcing retaining walls, including timber, block, or concrete options, to ensure structural integrity and compliance with engineering and safety standards. Perform ground preparation and drainage to enhance wall stability and longevity.
- Assist with procurement and delivery of materials to the site, ensuring timely and accurate supplies for project continuity.
- Communicate effectively with the team, ensuring smooth collaboration and task coordination.
- Operate hand and power tools efficiently and safely to complete tasks.
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines at all times, proactively managing and minimizing hazards to ensure a safe working environment.
- Problem solve effectively and demonstrate adaptability to handle a variety of tasks, often under changing circumstances.

Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in drain laying.
- Physical fitness and ability to handle the demands of the job.
- Proactive problem solver.
- Honest, reliable & punctual.
- Full New Zealand license.
- Experience operating various sized excavators.
- Permanent residency, or citizenship.
- References from previous employers.
- Basic phone & computer literacy with the ability to learn new systems.
Desired skills & qualifications:
- Class 2 and 4 licenses would be advantageous.
- Valid drainlayer certification.
