About your team / Ko te tīma

The Strategy Implementation group is a small group with a broad skillset focused on supporting the organisation to embed the strategy and transition to the key shifts required.

The group provides the systems and processes needed to implement, embed, and monitor WorkSafe's strategy and functional model.

We will also be looking to the future and positioning WorkSafe to build on the successes of the past, by navigating how we mature as an effective and trusted regulator under our strategy and functional model.

The Strategy Implementation group roles are fixed term to support the work programme and shifts required.

About the role / Ō te tūranga

This role is a 12-month fixed term opportunity. This role is responsible for leading the successful delivery and implementation of change initiatives. This role will provide expert change practice support across the organisation, ensuring that change is effectively delivered and embedded

A key part of the role is guiding individuals and teams, especially those with limited experience of change, through the transition journey, helping to build capability and confidence. The Change Lead will play a critical role in ensuring business readiness, reducing resistance, and driving adoption of new ways of working. Central to this role is engaging and informing stakeholders at all levels, fostering a sense of ownership and alignment with change and transformation initiatives.

What You'll Do/ Ko tōu ake mahi

  • Design and implement end-to-end change management strategies that align with project objectives, timelines, and organisational goals.
  • Help frontline staff and end-users understand and adopt new processes through communication, training, coaching, and ongoing support.
  • Partner with project teams, business leaders, Business Analysts, and subject matter experts to align change strategies with technical and operational changes.
  • Deliver clear, targeted communication and facilitate workshops, briefings, and training sessions tailored to various stakeholder needs.
  • Identify and address potential resistance or barriers to change with proactive mitigation strategies and interventions.
  • Continuously assess change readiness and effectiveness, adjusting plans as necessary to ensure successful adoption.
  • Coordinate efforts across business groups, foster a change-ready culture, and contribute to regular reporting on change program outcomes.

What You'll Bring / Ko ngā pukenga ōu

  • Experienced in delivering change initiatives, particularly in business process improvement
  • Skilled in guiding and coaching staff unfamiliar with change, fostering understanding and adoption across all levels of the organisation.
  • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and drive collaboration.
  • Balances big-picture thinking with hands-on delivery to ensure effective and timely implementation of change initiatives.

Salary range / Awhe utu

As part of our remuneration framework the full salary range for the position is from $129,038 to $170,159, and our expected starting base salary for the right person is from $129,038 to $142,745.  Note: KiwiSaver/SSRSS employer contribution is additional to/on top of your base salary.
