Mō te tūranga | About the role

The Delivery Council Lead is responsible for formalising and driving continuous improvement strategy by sustaining a persistent change governance and delivery ecosystem across the business. You will lead Delivery Councils, support the coordination and prioritisation of persistent change work and communicate the progress and outcomes of change initiatives to uplift performance across Westpac.

Ko tō mahi | What you'll do

  • Lead prioritisation and governance of run and persistent change. initiatives, ensuring alignment with enterprise transformation goals
  • Establish and maintain robust governance frameworks with senior leadership to drive accountability and transparency.
  • Chair and facilitate Delivery Council sessions, presenting strategic updates at the Value Chain Performance Forum.
  • Oversee initiative trackers and tools (e.g., Power Apps, Jira) to maintain visibility and control over progress and resource allocation.
  • Communicate and celebrate outcomes delivered by change initiatives.
  • Engage with requestors of change to coordinate their requests to the appropriate channels.
  • Uplift delivery capability and increase productivity across Westpac.

Nā tāu rourou | What will you bring?

  • 5+ years' experience in the finance industry.
  • Strong leadership skills with a proven track record in influencing stakeholders and driving alignment with enterprise goals.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical ability, with experience using lean methodology.
  • Proven capability to communicate change outcomes clearly, facilitate council sessions, and present strategic updates that celebrate successes and drive engagement across the business.
  • Desirable: Understanding of all business units across Westpac New Zealand and knowledge of Westpac banking systems.
  • Capabilities: Executes for customers, inspires and provides direction, enables performance, influences and collaborates, business acumen, coaching and mentoring.
