We are looking for an outstanding sponsorship, fundraising or business development executive to lead Aktive's commercial growth & help shape a more active, thriving Auckland community

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Commercial Growth Lead is a newly created role focused on driving the expansion and diversification of Aktive's revenue streams.

You will be responsible for identifying, securing, and nurturing a diverse range of revenue partnerships across services, funding, philanthropy, and commercial. This position drives business development for Aktive's Accounting Services and wider service offerings, cultivates strong relationships with partners, funders, donors, and clients, and ensures high retention through exceptional servicing.

Working collaboratively across the organisation, the role scans for new opportunities, prepares funding applications, negotiates partnership agreements, and ensures seamless delivery of commitments. It also contributes strategic insights, monitors sector trends, and supports a high-performing, values-driven team culture focused on continuous improvement and impactful outcomes.

We're looking for a proactive connector and strategic thinker someone who excels at prospecting, building high-value relationships, and delivering measurable results.

ABOUT YOU:

· years' experience in sponsorship, fundraising, commercial, or business development.

· Proven success in managing and retaining clients, partners, and key relationships.

· Strong leadership capability with the ability to guide diverse programmes of work.

· Experience in budget management and delivery against targets.

· Results-driven with a mindset for continuous improvement.

· High energy, motivated, and dedicated to delivering quality.

· Collaborative team player committed to collective success.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills, including confident presenting.

· Experience or understanding of the sport and physical activity sector is desirable.
