ABOUT THE ROLE:

As a 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice Heavy Diesel Technician, you will build on your existing skills and experience by working on a wide range of heavy vehicles and equipment. You'll be part of a skilled team, contributing to diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance while continuing your MITO training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with diagnosing and repairing engines, transmissions, air systems, and chassis components.
  • Support overhaul and servicing tasks under guidance, with increasing independence as skills grow.
  • Conduct performance checks and assist with compliance testing.
  • Maintain accurate service records and complete required paperwork.
  • Follow health and safety protocols, including PPE use and hazard reporting.
  • Progress your MITO training plan and achieve annual credit targets.
  • Maintain a clean and organised workspace.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and uphold company values in all interactions.

ABOUT YOU:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in a Heavy Diesel Technician apprenticeship (2nd or 3rd year).
  • Pre-trade experience is an advantage.

Personal Attributes:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Committed to completing MITO requirements.
  • Positive attitude and team player.
  • Good time management and organisational skills.
  • Professional communication and presentation.

Essential Requirements:

  • Legally able to work permanently in NZ.
  • Class 1 NZ Driver's Licence.
