ABOUT THE ROLE:
As a 2nd or 3rd Year Apprentice Heavy Diesel Technician, you will build on your existing skills and experience by working on a wide range of heavy vehicles and equipment. You'll be part of a skilled team, contributing to diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance while continuing your MITO training.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with diagnosing and repairing engines, transmissions, air systems, and chassis components.
- Support overhaul and servicing tasks under guidance, with increasing independence as skills grow.
- Conduct performance checks and assist with compliance testing.
- Maintain accurate service records and complete required paperwork.
- Follow health and safety protocols, including PPE use and hazard reporting.
- Progress your MITO training plan and achieve annual credit targets.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace.
- Demonstrate professionalism and uphold company values in all interactions.
ABOUT YOU:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Currently enrolled in a Heavy Diesel Technician apprenticeship (2nd or 3rd year).
- Pre-trade experience is an advantage.
Personal Attributes:
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Committed to completing MITO requirements.
- Positive attitude and team player.
- Good time management and organisational skills.
- Professional communication and presentation.
Essential Requirements:
- Legally able to work permanently in NZ.
- Class 1 NZ Driver's Licence.
