Otago Boys' High School is recruiting for an Assistant Manager to support their boarding facility, School House.
The hours will be 32 hours per week. Rostered hours during the week split over day and evening shifts and one in 3 weekends. Hours during the school holidays are adjusted with approval from the Director of Boarding to reflect the operational needs of the Boarding House. Four weeks Annual leave to be taken during the closedown period in December/January, dependent on the external hire commitments. This is a permanent part-time position.
The purpose of the Assistant Manager role is to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Boarding House (School House). There are two Assistant Manager positions at School House and both report to the Director of Boarding, one takes leadership of Years 9-10, the other Yrs 11-13.
- Have day-to-day responsibility for the management of Housemasters and the student behaviour following School House rules and policies.
- Ensure students are safe physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally at all times.
- Ensure all School House policies and rules are followed on a daily basis.
- Lead and support the Positive Behaviour for Living behaviour management process for the Junior or Senior students.
