The Y is looking for a commercially sharp, purpose-driven leader to take our brand, engagement, and partnerships to the next level. This role plays a key part in delivering our 'Igniting Futures Strategy' - a bold, focused plan to grow our impact, strengthen community connection and build a future-fit Y

This is a Senior Leadership role with heart and hustle - combining brand strategy, marketing, product, fundraising, sponsorship, digital, and community partnerships. Reporting to the CEO, you'll be part of the Senior Leadership Team and help shape how The Y shows up across Tāmaki Makarau. You'll drive visibility, income and impact, from fitness and youth programmes to major campaigns and strategic partnerships.

What You'll Lead:

  • Brand & Marketing Strategy - Lead the development and execution of a brand strategy that builds trust, drives engagement, and reflects the organisation's values. Oversee integrated marketing efforts across digital, print, PR and content to grow awareness and attract supporters, participants, and partners.
  • Product & Portfolio Management -Develop and manage a cohesive portfolio of programmes, services and campaigns aligned with community needs, revenue goals, and strategic priorities.
  • Community & Youth Engagement -Design and deliver meaningful community and youth development initiatives that prioritise equity, accessibility, and inclusion.
  • Stakeholder Management & Partnerships -Build and maintain trusted relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including funders, sponsors, Iwi, government agencies, schools and community groups.
  • Commercial Development & Fundraising -Drive sustainable revenue through diversified income streams including fundraising, sponsorship, donor engagement, grants, social enterprise and commercial ventures.
  • Strategy, Insight & Reporting - Translate organisational goals into brand, marketing and engagement strategies with clear KPIs and outcomes.
  • People Leadership & Culture -Lead, grow, and inspire a high-performing, cross-functional team spanning marketing, fundraising, digital and community roles.

What You'll Bring:

  • Strong Senior Leadership experience across brand, marketing and community development.
  • Experience working with or for not-for-profits, public, or community-based organisations is a must, including fundraising.

  • Commercial acumen and audience insight.

  • Fundraising or commercial sponsorship success.
  • A passion for community, equity and inclusion.
  • Energy, creativity and strategic thinking.
  • A collaborative leadership style, with the ability to influence and get things done.
