Auckland, Auckland, New Zealand Schneider Electric Full time NZ$60,000 - NZ$120,000 per year

Join APC by Schneider Electric and help power New Zealand's next generation of data centres with innovative, sustainable IT solutions

APC by Schneider Electric is a global leader in critical power and data centre solutions. For over 40 years, we've delivered trusted UPS systems, racks, cooling, and monitoring software that keep IT environments running reliably. As part of Schneider Electric, we're shaping the future of cloud, edge, and AI-ready infrastructure—with a strong focus on innovation and sustainability.

We are hiring for a Business Development Manager- IT & Data Centres in our high-impact Secure Power / IT Edge team — and be part of a global leader driving sustainability, AI-readiness, and digital transformation through smarter energy solutions and resilient data centre infrastructure.

Why This Role? Why Now?

The data centre and edge IT market is booming — fuelled by AI, IoT, cloud migration, and the increasing need for distributed infrastructure. This is your chance to work at the epicentre of growth, innovation, and impact.

In this role, you'll own a defined enterprise territory, drive strategic engagement with NZ's top 100 corporates, and work hand-in-hand with leading IT channel partners and key government accounts to deliver real transformation.

You'll collaborate with a high-performing team and have access to global expertise, top-tier technology, and the freedom to lead your patch like your own business.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Understanding the Data Centre Business Ecosystem and identify new opportunities within client accounts
  • Developing deep relationships with enterprise customers, understanding their digital strategy, and aligning solutions that drive results
  • Working closely with channel partners, system integrators, and contractors to create new demand and close business
  • Executing a quarterly/annual business plan across key verticals
  • Building and managing a high-value pipeline using Salesforce and disciplined sales cadence
  • Identifying new project opportunities — fitouts, upgrades, hybrid IT rollouts — and bringing in the right mix of hardware, software, and services
  • Championing Schneider's sustainability and digital transformation value to your customers

What We're Looking For

  • 3-5 years of sales outbound experience in the data centre Colocation & Telco industry with an interest in Digital Transformation
  • Experience working with or through the IT channel
  • Knowledge of enterprise IT environments, and exposure to data centres, infrastructure, software, or hybrid IT
  • A natural relationship builder who can engage strategically and consultatively at all levels
  • Experience managing a pipeline, creating account plans, and navigating complex sales
  • Self-driven, commercially astute, and excited to be part of a fast-moving, purpose-led industry

Bonus Points If You Have

  • Background working with Co-Lo, Telco, or infrastructure projects
  • Experience in or selling to Central Government agencies
  • Understanding of critical power, cooling, edge computing, and DCPI solutions

What's In It For You?

  • A high-impact role with visibility and ownership in a future-ready industry
  • Competitive salary + bonus + benefits + tools of the trade
  • Flexible working and an inclusive culture that champions diversity
  • Career development through global pathways, world-class learning, and exposure to leading technologies
  • Work on meaningful projects that support climate action and digital resilience
