Technical Engagement Lead

About the Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
This New Zealand-owned technology consultancy is known for crafting smart, innovative software solutions that make a real difference for its customers. With multiple development teams delivering parallel streams of work for one of their major clients, maintaining consistent quality—both in technical output and delivery process—is absolutely essential.
This is where the Technical Delivery & Customer Success Lead steps in.
In this role, the successful candidate will draw on a strong background in bespoke software engineering and solution design, paired with a high level of customer-facing experience. They will work closely with development squads to understand day-to-day workflows, delivery rhythms, and the evolving priorities of a key enterprise customer.
Rather than managing people directly, they will drive continuous improvement, ensuring the teams operate efficiently, communicate effectively, and align to best-practice approaches.
A deep understanding of Azure-based web application development will enable them to contribute to design discussions, guide engineering practices, and participate in review activities. Equally important is the ability to build trusted relationships with customer stakeholders—understanding their strategic goals, what success looks like for them, and how to best shape delivery approaches to support those outcomes.
In short, this person becomes a trusted advisor—someone who advocates for the customer, supports the delivery teams, unblocks challenges, and uses strong technical expertise to influence positive outcomes.
Skills & Experience | Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako
The ideal candidate will bring:
- A strong technical foundation in software development and Microsoft Azure, with experience as a technical lead and/or architect in web application environments
- Excellent interpersonal skills and extensive experience working directly with customers
- A natural ability to communicate clearly, build rapport, and strengthen long-term business relationships
- A history of contributing to teams designing and delivering complex technical solutions
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
- Previous experience in customer success or similar advisory roles (advantageous)
- Auckland-based presence
