The Opportunity

We're on the hunt for a National Technical Waste Lead to drive the safe and compliant treatment of waste across our national operations.

You'll ensure all waste is accepted, treated, and disposed of safely, while leading continuous improvement in treatment methods, compliance, and operational efficiency.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Manage the safe receipt, treatment, and disposal of waste nationwide, ensuring full compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain accurate waste inventory and documentation, including SOPs, JSEAs, and treatment records.
  • Develop and refine treatment processes and methodologies to improve efficiency and environmental outcomes.
  • Oversee quotations and costing, ensuring fair pricing aligned with treatment methods and market rates.
  • Monitor consent and compliance obligations, conducting audits, sampling, and reporting to councils and Watercare.
  • Provide technical support to other InterGroup branches and lead initiatives to enhance waste treatment capabilities.
  • Champion health, safety, and environmental excellence across all waste operations.
What You'll Bring
  • A Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or Waste Treatment/Management.
  • Strong understanding of waste treatment processes and environmental compliance.
  • Proven ability to research and develop new treatment methods.
  • Excellent analytical, computer, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and safety accreditation standards.
  • A passion for continuous improvement and a drive to deliver results safely and sustainably.
