About the role

We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join a growing New Zealand owned business. This full-time position is based in Silverdale, Auckland and will play a vital role in maintaining their financial records and ensuring the efficient management of accounts receivables. This is a busy role that would suit someone who enjoys systems and processes and is very detailed.

What you'll be doing

  1. Setting up new accounts including assessing credit applications
  2. Follow up on outstanding payments and manage the accounts payable process
  3. Reconcile bank statements daily for both NZ and Australia
  4. Processing monthly online billing and direct debits
  5. Provide administrative support to the Finance team as required
  6. Credit control and debt collection
  7. Collaborate with other departments to ensure accuracy of financial data

What we're looking for

  • 2-3 years' experience in an accounts receivable or credit control role
  • Strong numerical skills and strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel
  • Knowledge of Xero and Odoo is preferable
  • Experience of Trade Credit Insurance would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good time management and prioritisation skills
