We are seeking highly skilled, talented, enthusiastic, and ambitious chefs to join our established teams and collaborate on our new openings, concepts, and menus.

This role consists of varied hours over a 7-day week roster.

SSP is a leading operator of food and beverage outlets in travel locations worldwide, with c.43,000 colleagues in over 600 locations across nearly 40 countries.

We operate sit-down and quick service restaurants, cafes, lounges and food-led convenience stores, principally in airports and train stations, with a portfolio of around 550 international, national and local brands. These include our own brands (such as Urban Crave, which brought the first "street eats" concept to airports in the US and Nippon Ramen, a noodle and dumpling concept in the APAC region) as well as franchise brands (such as M&S, Starbucks and Burger King).

Our SSP Asia Pacific journey started in Thailand over 25 years ago. Since then, we have grown to include Singapore, Hong Kong SAR, Australia, New Zealand, the Philippines, Malaysia and Indonesia, with more than 5,500 colleagues, 150 brands and 300 stores.

Required Experience to be successful in this role:

  • A qualified chef with 2 or more years' relevant experience or a NZ Certificate in Cookery
  • Proficiency with a la carte.
  • A team player with a natural ability to motivate
  • Experienced in monitoring and adhering to health & safety regulations in the kitchen.
  • Professional with effective communication skills, and an aptitude for multi-tasking.
  • A skilled and passionate culinary specialist who loves keeping abreast of food trends.

Skills, Competencies and Health and Safety:

  • Proficient understanding of kitchen dynamics and teamwork.
  • Excellent understanding of food hygiene regulations, for example HACCAP, Food Safety Plan.
  • Knowledge of cross-contamination prevention measures and safe handling of kitchen equipment.
  • Ability to multitask effectively, managing diverse responsibilities such as cooking various components of a dish and overseeing kitchen operations.
  • Strong knowledge of ingredients, including their textures, tastes, and interactions within dishes.
  • Capable of managing tasks set for you.
  • Focused on enhancing our guests experience by ensuring high standards, superb food, and service.
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with co-workers and customers.
