The Court Theatre is now proudly serving audiences from our central city home in Ōtautahi Christchurch. We're keeping our food offering simple and high-quality—Classic Neapolitan-style pizzas and a refined snack menu to complement our world-class theatre experience.

Role Purpose

We're seeking an experienced Pizza Chef who can hit the ground running. You'll bring proven pizza-making skills, dough confidence, and oven know-how to deliver consistently delicious pizzas and snacks to our audiences.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

• Prepare pizzas and snacks quickly and consistently, following recipes and quality standards.
• Support the Head Chef with prep work and general kitchen duties.
• Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen at all times, including workstations, storage areas, and equipment.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate requirements in a timely manner.
• Correctly label and store food to ensure freshness and minimise waste.
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene regulations, reporting any equipment issues or hazards.

What We're Looking For

• Pizza-making experience is essential—you'll be confident handling dough, toppings, and ovens from day one.
• Experience with wood-fired or gas ovens strongly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• A positive team player with excellent communication skills.
• Reliability, honesty, and integrity.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
