He kōrero mō te tūranga | The Role

As our Service Manager, you will lead the day to day operations of our Onehunga site.  This is a full time, hands-on and pivotal team leader level role.  Your key day to day responsibilities include leading a small team (3) dedicated to the provision of community supports for our tenants, indirectly overseeing a small group of Tenancy Managers (4) also working on the site; and ensuring that all activities at our Onehunga site are in line with Monte practice, quality standards; and meet contractual and legal obligations.  In addition, the Service Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining positive and effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders both internal and external; and collaborating cross functionally to ensure a seamless tenant experience across the organisation.

While this is an Onehunga based role, you will be required to attend meetings on other sites on a regular basis.

All of our Monte team are required to have a legal right to work in New Zealand (e.g. New Zealand citizen, resident, valid work visa) and maintain a satisfactory Police Check.

You will be the perfect fit for our Service Manager role if you have:

  • Experience, Qualifications, & Licenses:A minimum of 5 years' leading a social / community service focused team, have a Social Work or equivalent professional body qualification and a full / clean New Zealand driver's license. We will consider equivalent transferable skills if you also have 5+ years proven team leadership experience in social/community services.
  • A solid understanding of relevant housing / tenancy regulations and housing supports would also be preferred.
  • Motivating collaboration & high performance: Able to motivate direct and indirect teams, monitor performance and coach for accountability, service delivery in line with Monte's values and practices; and a 'one team' focused positive workplace culture.
  • Relationship Management: Easily able to get alongside and build rapport and trust with team members, colleagues and tenants, work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels, and maintain positive relationships with government agencies, social service providers, and community groups.
  • Communication Skills:Excellent at conveying information both verbally and written, actively listening to your team members, colleagues and tenants, and adapting your communication style to different individuals as needed.
  • Problem Solving & Conflict Resolution: Confidently able to identify, understand and resolve issues. Advanced risk assessment experience; including how and when to engage other parties as part of risk assessment and management.
  • Time Management & Organization: Reliable with excellent ability to prioritise and manage all aspects of a busy workload effectively and meet deadlines, with minimal supervision.
  • Cultural Connection & Ethical Practice: Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of diverse cultural backgrounds and able to tailor support and communication accordingly. Upholds the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Tikanga Māori; and demonstrated experience ensuring adherence to privacy, consent, and professional boundaries when working with families.
  • Computer Literacy & Administration:It is a given that you will be proficient using relevant software and databases for managing information and communication. Strong administration skills and attention to detail.

Competency in a language other than English is desirable.
