Operations Manager – Auto Logistics Christchurch

PTS Group is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead and optimise our Auto Logistics operations in Christchurch. This is a senior leadership role responsible for driving operational performance, customer outcomes, commercial growth, and safety across a dynamic transport and logistics environment.

About the role

You will take full responsibility for the day-to-day performance of the Christchurch Autos branch, overseeing transport, fleet, yard, and warehousing operations. You will lead a team of 50+ staff and work closely with senior leaders to deliver operational excellence, profitable growth, and outstanding customer service.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading transport, warehousing and yard operations
  • Managing fleet utilisation, scheduling and dispatch
  • Driving continuous improvement in safety, service and profitability
  • Building strong customer relationships and growing commercial opportunities
  • Preparing customer quotes and supporting contract negotiations
  • Leading staff recruitment, training, performance and engagement
  • Ensuring compliance with health and safety and regulatory requirements
  • Producing operational, financial and KPI reporting

About you

You will be a confident, hands-on leader with strong experience in transport, logistics, automotive, or operational environments. You thrive in fast-paced settings and are comfortable balancing people leadership, commercial performance, and safety compliance.

You will ideally bring:
