About Christchurch PHO

Christchurch Primary Health Organisation (CPHO) is a not-for-profit funded by Te Whatu Ora - Health New Zealand, Waitaha Canterbury, supporting around 95,000 people across twelve general practices. We partner with practices and community providers to deliver programmes that promote wellbeing, prevent illness and support rehabilitation, with a strong focus on equity for Māori, Pasifika and other priority groups.

The Role

We're seeking an Operations Manager to lead our operations and support our strategic goals. Reporting to the CEO, you'll oversee core business functions so our teams can deliver high-quality, consistent services. Key areas include:

  • Operations leadership - coordinate day-to-day internal operations; improve systems and processes.
  • Service delivery support - manage claiming, payment and reporting systems; ensure data accuracy.
  • HR operations - oversee recruitment coordination, employment contracts, onboarding and payroll instructions.
  • Finance operations - support budgeting and financial reporting with our finance provider.
  • IT & information - oversee IT systems, cyber security and data sharing agreements.
  • Contracts & compliance - manage contracts, policies and compliance with funder and legislative requirements.
  • Health & safety - lead H&S management and promote a safe, supportive workplace.
  • Te Tiriti o Waitangi - embed Te Tiriti principles across internal operations.

About You

You're an experienced operations leader who enjoys working across functions and making systems work better for people. You'll bring:

  • Tertiary qualification in business/operations/management (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience managing internal operations (HR, finance, IT, contracts, compliance).
  • Strong process improvement and operational governance skills.
  • Excellent communication, relationship and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to equity and Te Tiriti o Waitangi

Desirable:

  • Experience in the health, primary care or not-for-profit sector.
