Auckland Council is on a continued and significant transformation journey and as a result, has grown to become one of the largest Information Communications and Technology Services (ICT) capabilities in New Zealand. This presents a unique opportunity for an experienced ICT professional to come and join us in this exciting complex and energized environment in a permanent, full-time capacity.
As the Release Train Engineer, you will lead, optimize, and coach Agile Release Train (ART) activities (PI planning, innovation, system demos) and encourage continuous exploration that drives direction for a Vision, a Roadmap, Backlogs.
You are to represent the development teams in front of stakeholders to provide status updates, acquire feedback or approval, as well as lead and improve the flow of value through ART.
Compiling/Populating Agile team objectives and progress in a program roadmap to ensure simplicity and transparency is also an essential part of your responsibilities.
**He kōrero mōu: About you**
It is essential that you have at least 5+ years of experience in an enterprise-level technology organisation in roles of either Project Management, Product Management or Scrum Master at program level, along with a strong background in Kanban, Scrum, SAFe, organizational change management.
You will mentor (where necessary) leaders, teams, Product Managers, Product Owners and Scrum Masters in Agile practices and mindsets and so having solid exposure as a Release Train Engineer or facilitating large scale AGILE initiatives is a crucial component of your role Your qualifications/certification in Agile, Scrum-based delivery (preferably SAFe) will contribute to the success in this role.
In this role, you are also expected to collaborate with wider Delivery groups including the EPMO to maintain positive program execution; hence, your strong and trusted relationship between ICT, our Business Units and other stakeholders, combined with your leadership skills in driving all phases of a release from concept to planning to execution to completion, plus your exceptional collaboration, listening, written, and verbal communication skills will be heavily put into practice.
