The Regent of Rotorua offers stylish luxury accommodation, a restaurant, wine and cocktail bar - all with a touch of glamour and an oasis of understated contemporary elegance amidst the exciting attractions and experiences Rotorua has to offer.

We are currently recruiting for a highly motivated individual to fill the full-time position (40 hours per week) of Restaurant Supervisor for the Regent Room.

Reporting to the Hotel Manager, you will lead from the front and inspire a small team whose passion it is to exceed guests' expectations on a daily basis.

The ideal candidate for this  position will possess the following attributes:

  • Minimum 2 years previous experience in a similar position, at a supervisory level and in a high-end restaurant operation
  • A passion for food and working with a quality product
  • Excellent knowledge of local and international wines, cocktail mixology and espresso coffee making experience
  • Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ) and General Manager's Certificate
  • A desire to deliver and exceed expectations in guest service
  • High motivation and energy levels

Key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure the restaurant runs smoothly and profitably during shift
  • Ensuring high standards are maintained in both service and quality of food and beverage
  • Oversee daily activities, including opening and closing procedures, to ensure all tasks are completed correctly and efficiently
  • To provide duty management as required
  • Handle and resolve any guest complaint effectively, ensuring the ultimate satisfaction of the guest
  • Supervise and support the rostering of staff, assuming responsibility for departmental wage budgeting
  • Monitor stock levels of food, beverages, and supplies
  • Assist in training and development of Restaurant wait staff
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety standards
