Webb's is New Zealand's premier auction house, celebrated for curating exceptional auctions in Fine Art, Decorative Arts, Fine Wine, Jewellery, Watches and Luxury accessories, Collectors' Cars and Asian Art.

Webbs is seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of People & Culture to partner directly with our Managing Director in shaping and leading our people strategy. This is a pivotal role that will influence every corner of our business from employee engagement and development to compliance and culture.

What You'll Be Responsible For:

  • Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the Managing Director to drive employee engagement, shape our employer brand, and align people strategy with business goals.
  • Policy & Compliance: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of company policies and procedures, ensuring full compliance with employment legislation and Health & Safety regulations.
  • Workforce Planning: Liaise with Heads of Department and Senior Management to assess staffing needs and support strategic planning.
  • Employee Lifecycle Management: Monitor and manage employee turnover, onboarding processes, and succession planning to build internal capability.
  • Training & Development: Design and deliver in-house training programs and source external development opportunities to empower our teams.
  • Performance & Culture: Champion a high-performance culture by managing performance issues effectively and fostering strong relationships across all levels of the business.
  • Health & Safety Leadership: Lead our commitment to Health & Safety, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and codes of practice.
  • Budget Oversight: Maintain departmental budgets and ensure accurate cost tracking.
  • Legal Coordination: Act as liaison with our legal representatives on employment matters when required.

What We're Looking For:

· Proven experience in a senior HR, People & Culture, or similar leadership role.

· Strong understanding of employment law, Health & Safety obligations, and HR best practices.

· Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

· Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and a passion for people.

· Ability to influence and inspire across all levels of the business.
